Pickguards often get damaged, worn, or are sometimes just plain ugly enough that you might want to replace them. We often get asked to replace aging pickguards on both acoustic and electric guitars. We stock some standard pickguard shapes for common guitars in different materials. We also custom cut pickguards for those hard to find replacments such as the six-string bass shown to the right. Custom Pickguard Cutting
For hard to get pickguards like the example pictured, we can often copy your existing pickguard even if it is broken. Most often, a pickguard can easily cut with a form & trimmer then hand scraped to finish. At other times we will complete the copy design using a computer & cnc cutting.

The pickguard to the left was part of a conversion of this guitar from right handed to left handed. The original control cavity had to be covered. A new control cavity was added and an extra large pickguard was outlined by the client.
The pickguard on the right is more of a skeleton than a complete pickguard. The owner wanted
as much of the of the finished wood to show, but also wanted to retain the traditional shapes that make up the look of the Jazz Bass.
We cut this one from 0.09 inch thick black material. The screw hole positions match the original hole positions and we bevelled and polished the edges.
